Thawte did and still does use MySQL. I maintained their master server and their three geographically dispersed slave servers for a couple of years. I am freelancing right now but still keep in touch with the guys at Thawte.

hi, i am capgish from China. and i am wondering how to set mysql up on my Ubuntu. I wanna know the details coz i am new in this field. I have googled for quite a long time. I even don't know which packages should be installed. so help me and thanx:)

Its great to note Thawte still uses it.

capgish: just do apt-cache search mysql

Find the package you want (mysql5) and install it!
